Prior to downloading the PCCall software, please read the instructions below, if there are any problems please email voiceip@iol.ie

Create a new directory and name it "PCCall".

Download the PCCall software into the PCCall directory.

When download is complete double-click on "pccallsetup.exe", to start the installation process.

Once the installation is complete you will have a new shortcut on your desktop (If you have a previously installed version of PCCall the new version will replace it). Double-click on the shortcut.

You will be prompted to provide your "User ID", "Password" and "Gatekeeper".  These will be supplied to you by Ireland On-Line

After you enter your assigned User ID, Password, and Gatekeeper address click "OK" and the PCCall dialer will appear.

Adjust your multimedia settings for optimal call quality by performing the following steps:

From the Windows taskbar click on the "Start" button to launch the Start Menu.

From the Start Menu select "Settings".

From "Settings" select " Control Panel".

From the Control Panel double click on "Multimedia" to launch the Multimedia Menu.

On the Multimedia Menu select "Audio".

In the section labeled "Recording", click on the drop down box under "Preferred Quality", within the box select "Telephone Quality".

Select "OK" to save your changes and close the box.

Your PC is now configured for optimal call performance.

If you have installed NetMeeting but have not configured it, a dialog box will appear for you to configure NetMeeting. It is very important that you use the "Audio Tuning Wizard" in order to configure your speaker and microphone for optimal performance.

Please read the attached read me files included with the PCCall software, to properly configure NetMeeting.

Once you have configured NetMeeting, you are now ready to place your first call.

Please note that in the future when you click on the PCCall shortcut icon NetMeeting will not be launched. Instead, the PCCall dialer will appear and a link will appear on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.

If you need to re-enter your password for any reason, please do the following:

With the right mouse button click anywhere on the PCCall dialer.

Select "User Properties".

Under "User Properties", re-enter your "User ID" and "Password" Information.

Select "OK" and your password information is stored.
 

This is Beta software, and is in testing.  The purpose of this test-bed is to work out any possible problems and bugs in the software.  For this reason, your input is vital!

All anonomalies should be documented and mailed to voiceip@iol.ie  This way we can track trends.
